How it works: each box prefers a longer stable phrase (about 14–20 words), but a clear pause can commit it sooner. Translation happens in the background while the other box listens. Because of an iPhone Safari limitation, the microphone briefly pauses only when the English voice itself is speaking, then resumes automatically.
